Starling Mobile combines programming, engineering, & UI design into a seamless workflow. We provide continuous feedback throughout the development and design process, with bi-weekly videos of your app in action or a demo of your website. Our straightforward process has been created to give our clients the maximum amount of transparency throughout the development cycle.
This is where it all starts. We will conference with you to hash out all the specifications of your project, and create a wireframe (a sketch) outlining every detail, as well as making notes on functionality, animation, and branding. Once you are happy with the wireframe, we will give you quote based on the labor involved. After an initial 50% payment is received, we will proceed with creating a mockup of your app or website in Photoshop for your review.
After you have approved the mockup, we will begin coding. For apps, we use a cross platform, object-oriented Javascript IDE called Titanium Appcelerator™ that both speeds workflow, and produces beautiful native-compiled apps. For websites, we use the latest in HTML5, CSS3, and jQuery. Every two weeks, we will send you an email containing a link where you can view a video the current build of your app or a demo of your website. This allows you to give feedback as the development is in progress. Please note that this phase is for spotting errors or making minor UI changes. Adding additional functionality at this point, beyond what was outlined in the wireframe, will incur new costs.
Once the development phase is complete, the other 50% payment is due. You will need to create a developer account on one or all of the leading app stores. Each store has a price to join (Apple: $99/year, Amazon: $79/year, Google: $25/once). We will walk you through the process and make it as easy as possible. Once you have the developer credentials, we can create your store listing for you; optimising the title and copy for keywords relevant to your business. You will be given the full source code, relevant docs, and graphics files for the app once it has been deployed.
